What is Vertebrae Subluxation?

There are 33 bones (Vertebrae) in the spine but only 24 are moveable. Usually these joints move and function normally but sometimes accidents, injuries, falls, poor ergonomics, repetitive traumas and etc. can cause the joints to go out of normal alignment. When this happens, these misaligned bones will affect the nerves exiting the spine and cause pain or symptoms where those nerves go. This is a condition called vertebral subluxation.

Causes of Subluxation

Subluxations are usually the result of physical, emotional or chemical stresses.
Physical stress: Slips and falls, accidents, unnatural birth, poor posture or unnatural/heavy loading.
Emotional stress: Stress causes the muscles to constantly tighten up, increasing the risk of muscle spasms and fatigue.
Chemical stress: Alcohol, drugs, and poor diet.

Treatment Plans

Regular Chiropractic Treatment

Our trained chiropractors will apply force to adjust misalignments in your spine to help relieve, reverse and resolve symptoms you are experiencing, ultimately helping you to resume your daily activities.

Decompression Therapy
Nonsurgical procedure intended to relieve pressure in the targeted segment of the spine by gently stretching it to create a negative pressure in it. This stretch will allow herniated/bulging discs to retract and promote blood flow back to the discs to improve recovery. Decompression Therapy has been known to be effective for conditions such as slipped discs, sciatica, disc degeneration and nerve compression.

Like tooth decay and cancer, subluxations may go unnoticed before any warning signs appear. Results of a thorough examination can show the location and severity of any subluxations that you may have. Some patients may experience a lot of pain and symptoms, others might notice bad posture, some might not have any symptoms at all!
A Doctor of Chiropractic is the only one who is trained to correct subluxations. Structural issues like subluxation do not go away on their own, they must be physically corrected. Massages, physiotherapy and traditional Chinese medicine only help with the symptoms but not the subluxations.
