Back in September 2022 I was suffering with really bad lower back pain. Had been doing some physio exercises but nothing helped so I booked an appointment with Dr Mike Bates in Leeds. Best decision I ever made. After intitial consultation and a couple of x-rays I returned a few days later to find that I had a trapped nerve due to my bottom disc being out of place causing the 2 above to be working overtime to compensate which also meant, as Dr Mike explained, that there would be problems in the centre of my spine and also in my neck. I was walking with a limp when I arrived but after my first adjustment I couldn't believe it, I walked out without limping and thanks to the 3 visits a week for the first couple of months, the limp has not returned. I had more energy, slept longer, enjoyed a lay in when I wasn't working and just generally felt good within myself.I'm still undergoing treatment, albeit minor adjustments, but even when I finish I will still get checked and adjusted every few months.All of the staff have been and are fantastic, very helpful and James will probably have a heart attack when he sees that I've finally got around to doing this testimonial.Paul K - Age 59

I was blown away by the fantastic service from the moment I booked my first visit, the bookings team were extremely helpful and polite over the phone by finding a suitable time for myself to book in a consultation with the Doctor, they understood my queries and managed to get me seen the next day. When I entered, the atmosphere was calming and the reception team were very friendly and welcoming, Harvey greeted me and introduced himself which made me feel more comfortable. In the three months that I have been coming to chiropractic first, the staff have always been very helpful and friendly. I went to the Chiropractor at the end of July as I suffered from terrible lower back pain as well as in the rest of my body. This prevented me from doing any sort of workout as it was just too painful. I am a dancer in training and that started to become a major setback and I lost so much of the progress that I had made through at-home workouts. Now, after having gone 3 times a week since August, I have noticed a massive improvement and no longer suffer from as much pain. This meant that I was able to start working out a little bit before starting at University on a dance course at the end of September. It has shown in my dancing as I have become so much more fluid in my movements which makes it so much easier to dance. I recommend people to go here as they make sure to take an x-ray and get to the root of the problem so they aren't targeting the wrong parts of the body.

I went to see them via Vitality and they took the time to really get to the root cause of my injury and made sure their assumptions were backed up by proper x-rays before starting treatment. I'm now 4-5 months in and I've noticed a massive difference in terms of posture, back-pain and other things like sleep too. The changes were confirmed when they took new x-rays and showed me the difference in my spine after 3 months. Mike is incredibly knowledge and so passionate about what he does. Firstly, this is an amazingly friendly service. The girls on reception are brilliant.I first came in with regularly back pain, it was miserable and I was desperate. It was affecting my quality of life. A long amature rugby career was taking its toll. At the time of writing this I've had none at all for 3 months!Initially I was apprehensive. I had tried another chiropractor and multiple physios over many years previously. This was a last throw of the dice.At my initial assessment with Dr Mike I didn't go into detail describing my issues. I wanted to get his unbiased view. He immediately pinpointed areas which were giving me pain and found some I hadn't noticed!The treatments are efficiently organised and very quick. Rearranging them, if required, is easy. There are regular assessments to make sure you're on the right track - I found this reassuring. Dr Mike is very knowledgable.This is a relatively expensive and long process. However, if you're serious about fixing your pain, it's worth every second and penny. I highly recommend!
